TYPES OF SERVICES

Psychological Counseling
Women who are suffering from domestic violence and abuse are often tormented; their self-esteem is depleted, they lack initiative, canโ€™t think independently, are depressed and feel hopeless. They need support, understanding, and help to build confidence in themselves.
Children may also benefit from our child psychologist. Often, children have to deal with fear, confusion; they are used as tools by parents, and donโ€™t understand how love and violence can co-exist. They often develop speech problems, aggressive or overly passive behaviour, fears, anxiety, bedwetting and even depression.

Shelter
Safe, confidential shelter remains the necessary last resort for survivors of domestic violence in grave danger.

The shelter location is kept confidential to ensure the safety of residents as well as staff.

The shelter is set up and run by women. They offer counselling and support for women by women. As a rule, men are not allowed access to shelter.

Safety Plan
If you are afraid for your life, please contact us immediately via our anonymous and confidential hotline.  You can ask questions, plan ways to stay safe or get to a shelter. If you are still in the relationship, here are some things you can do to keep yourself safe.

Support a Victim of Domestic Violence
It takes courage for a survivor of sexual assault or domestic violence to share their story with anyone. Never underestimate your power to affect the course of a survivorโ€™s healing journey. Here are some toolsโ€”words, actions, and resourcesโ€”that can help you support someone who shares personal experiences with you.

Case Management
Our social workers assess survivors’ needs using international standards and coordinate care services, including counselling, educational services, health care, and rehabilitation.  Each beneficiary will have their own social worker, who is their case manager.

Legal Assistance
WSC legal advocates help with the legal paperwork, accompany victims to court and provide support and information on their legal rights and options. Our lawyer may assist you in cases of property disputes, custody of children, alimony, divorce, or filing criminal charges.
