- Make sure it’s safe to talkโconsider whether the abuser is present or expected to return soon.
- Our hotlines are confidential and anonymous. You can choose to give a false name or remain unnamed.
- If you need to leave quickly, identify a safe place to go and gather essential documents in advance.
- Avoid telling the abuser about your plans to leave, as this could increase the risk of harm.
