Prevention of domestic violence through the protection and empowerment of the victim, rehabilitation of family members; challenge systems and institutions so that they respond more effectively to the needs of battered women and their children; promote social change; and educate the community on gender equality and domestic violence and its consequences.  In 2024, the RA Parliament approved WSC proposed legislation to amend the Domestic Violence and Criminal Law, in order to offer better victim protection of and accountability of the perpetrator.

Our History

Established in 2010, the WSC is a full-service DV center led by a small group of feminist activists and community leaders dedicated to the mission of combating domestic abuse through the protection, rehabilitation, and empowerment of survivors and changing the legal, educational, and social conditions that contribute to a culture of silence surrounding DV.

Our Impact

Annually we serve over 300 clients and each year our numbers increase by about 20%. We also offer vocational skills training, computer instruction, healthy lifestyles, life skills, parenting skills, and survivor strategies. These workshops help survivors become better equipped to handle difficult situations, manage their households and enter the workforce.

Our Team

With a staff of 27 professionals , Women’s Support Center (WSC) is working on preventing and responding to domestic violence (DV) with a particular focus on men’s violence against women who are or were in an intimate relationship. We are a non-profit and non-governmental organization, offering a full-service domestic violence center and working to create systemic change for victims of DV.
